Cali Swag District is an American hip hop group from Inglewood, California,[2]
founded by former Death Row artist Big Wy and Dairold Potts.[3] The group is
best known for the single "Teach Me How to Dougie", which debuted
at Number 91 on the Billboard Hot 100.[4] The song remained on the chart and
climbed steadily during the weeks that followed, rising to Number 28 by its
thirteenth week. "Teach Me How to Dougie" reached Number 1 on Billboard
Heatseekers, holding the Number 2 position for six consecutive weeks before
claiming the Number 1 position in its seventh week. The group is signed with
Capitol Records' Checkmate Entertainment imprint.
The group's second single was "Where You Are", which samples
Michael Jackson's 1972 hit "I Wanna Be Where You Are".[5]
According to Capitol Records, the group's debut studio album, The Kickback,
will be released on February 15, 2011. The group's third single, the
albums title track, was released on January 18, 2011.
