Anthony Johnson better known by his stage name Slim Da Mobster is
a Los Angeles-based rapper and was signed under Aftermath Entertainment,
Shady Records and G-Unit Records he was later moved from G-Unit to
G-Unit West. He is currently working on Dr. Dre's third studio album,
Detox. He is known as Dr. Dre's new protegé. He is currently
also working on his debut Aftermath Entertainment studio album.
He's managed by John Monopoly who ushered in Kanye Wests rapping
career. His influence includes gangsta rap from LA, The D.O.C
and The Notorious B.I.G. He took his rap name from notorious
pimp Fillmore Slim and from being in the trap having the mindset
of a Mobster.
Slim da Mobster grew up all over from South Central and Corpus Christi,
Texas.[6] In February 2008 he was featured on a Hussein Fatal mixtape.[7]
He solicited demos to Dr. Dre in 2008 and eventually got a record deal
with Aftermath Entertainment.[7] Later in 2008 Dr.Dre asked Eminem
and 50 Cent would they be interested in a joint venture to sign Slim
da Mobster and towards the end off 2008 he was now signed to Aftermath/Shady/G-Unit.
The first rapper to ever sign for the three labels, Since then he has
had featured music on 50 Cents official website. He released his first
track to the internet titled "Mutha Fuckin Streets" which
features Glasses Malone and is produced by Dr. Dre which introduced
Slim da Mobster to the masses. They shot a street music video for the
track.[7]
[edit] 2009-2010: Detox and debut album
Detox is set to solidify Slims career as The Chronic did with Snoop
Dogg and 2001 did with Eminem.[4] As of Late 2010 he is focused on
getting Dr. Dre's Detox which he is heavily featured on finished.[5]
He wrote 70% of Detox including the lead single Kush.[8] Slim announced
in December 2010 he will release a new freestyle every Friday in a
program titled "Freestyle Fridays" with the first being his
freestyle to "Kush".[9]
According to Slim Detox and his debut album will have similar elements
but totally different feels to them.[8] He stated that Dr. Dre will
be featured on it and will "feel like an N.W.A album."[8]
Artists he wishes to work with on his debut album include will.i.am,
Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, T-Pain, The Game, Bishop Lamont and Tyrese
and will only include Dre beats.[6] The album will be turned in to
label executives by June 2011.[10] Rumors began to spread that Slim
left both Shady Records and G-Unit Records, the rumors were later found
false by Dr.Dre's offical aftermath entertainment website witch confirmed
Slim was still signed to all three labels.[11] In 2011 Slim was moved
from G-Unit Records to G-Unit West by 50 Cent which was confirmed by
G-Unit West CEO Spider Loc.[12]

He claimed to have been "stabbed, shot, robbed, kidnapped and
was a member of the Crips" during his life on the streets.[5]
His uncle is famed former drug kingpin Freeway Ricky Ross.[13]
