Frontman, Writer & Vocalist History The band initially formed in 2002 online by accident. Vocalist Robb “TaLLLLL” University created an AOL profile and listed “singing in the shower” as one of his hobbies. Keyboardist Will Pepper searched for singers nearby and stumbled upon Robb. They bonded instantly and recorded five songs after their first meeting. Those songs eventually made way for the band to meet with well-known producer Kevin Rudolf.[4] On April 13, 2010, Lights Over Paris released their first EP, Turn Off The Lights EP on Digital Records/Type One Records. The song downloaded over 100,000 times on iTunes and was played nationwide in the United States on radio stations. The music video for the song was shot at various
locations in Los Angeles by actor/director John Asher (Ghost Whisperer,
CSI, One Tree Hill). The video was premiered on Yahoo! Music MTV,
VH1 and received over 1 million views onYouTube.[2] [3] On the
US Billboard Chart for Heatseekers Albums the song went from #15
to # 6 on in August 2010 and was previously ranked #33 for the
Independent Albums chart.[1] Ever since their success the group
has been touring across the US from city to city playing songs
from their album 'Turn Off the Lights EP'. With musical influences
from AC/DC, and Lady Gaga to Blink 182 and Black Eyed Peas, Lights
Over Paris is not limited to one particular genre. Their many influences
include rock, pop, electro, and punk. The band harkens back to
a late 90’s punk rock mentality while looping around pop turns
and dance rock twists, with the occasional hip-hop influence.[5][6][7][8] The band's has an upcoming single, ‘I’m Not a
Gangsta’ ft Game. The single is produced by Dr. Luke’s Ammo (Britney
Spears, Ke$ha, Katy Perry) and will be released in mid-April 2011.
‘I’m Not a Gangsta’ is cut from the band’s upcoming untitled release
which is due out in the spring of 2011. The album also features
producers Kool Kojak (Flo Rida), Matt Squire (3OH!3, Ke$ha, Panic!
at the Disco, Boys Like Girls) and features singer Dev (Like a
G6, Bass Down Low).
